AW109 is versatile for gOver nment material transportation, offshore navigation, emergency drug supply, or for surveillance and military patrol missions. In addition, the AW109 performs various tasks for the military. With its excellent performance, strong reliability, simple maintenance and flexible use, it has won the recognition and love of aircraft pilots and operators. The AW109 is an IFR-qualified, single-steero helicopter that can take off and land Class A at an elevated heliport without any load weight reduction, in compliance with European Class 1 performance helicopter regulations. The AW109 can be equipped with either Pratt & Whitney or Turbomeca engines and is controlled by a fully authorized digital engine control system (FADEC). The digital glass cockpit has six built-in LCD instrument displays, which can visually display the operating status of each instrument, thereby reducing the driver's work burden.

Not only is the new AW109 superior, but the cabin has been improved to be elegant and comfortable enough to accommodate more passengers. In addition to comfort and elegance, the interior cabin carefully designed for demanding passengers features the latest soundproofing technology and impressive sound insulation. Passengers no longer have to be bothered by the noisy rumble of helicopters and can quietly enjoy the outside landscape through the glass. The helicopter is also equipped with a state-of-the-art avionics package. Two larger rear windows allow the driver to see the outside more clearly. The cockpit instrumentation has also been improved with an LCD configuration. The AW109 is externally equipped with an electrically operated main cabin entrance, a satellite communications antenna on the vertical wing, and landing/flight indicators prominently mounted on the landing gear.
